FAQ - Trainers

How do I get clients?
  • As a trainer, you can’t proactively reach out to potential clients on the NextRep app. Similar to Air BnB, clients will find you based on your location, price, position, etc.
  • Ensuring you have your availability up to date and your profile completed will maximize your chances of being found by clients.
  • Referring people on the platform and interacting with NextRep’s social media (@getnextrep across all major platforms) are the most effective ways to get clients.
  • Our algorithm utilizes trainer reviews and activity – the more you train and better you do, the more likely it is that people will book sessions with you.
How much should I charge?
  • On the NextRep platform, you’re an entrepreneur and are operating your own training business – as such, you should charge what you think you’re worth.
  • Generally speaking, we expect small group rates and event prices to be lower than one-on-one rates as there is less individual attention.
Do I keep all the money I earn?
  • All trainers, regardless of subscription level, keep 100% of tips.
  • All trainers, regardless of subscription level, participate in the referral system and can earn significant extra income from doing so.
  • Trainers without a subscription retain 80% of their total bookings.
  • Trainers with a NextRep Premium subscription retain 90% of their total bookings.
  • Trainers with a NextRep Business account retain 100% of their total bookings.
How does the referral system work?
  • As a trainer, you will have a unique referral code. When other players/parents or trainers sign up for NextRep using your referral code, they become “Your Referrals”.
  • You will get paid $20 for every one of “Your Referrals” that become annual subscribers on the NextRep platform.
  • If you spread the word about NextRep, you can make significant extra income.
How do I find field space?
  • Simply put, you should host training sessions where you decide to put in your extra reps.
  • If using a public field space, you should always arrive at least 15 minutes early to ensure there is space to train.
  • Your preferred location should be your go-to spot (backyard, local high school, local field, etc.)
  • Supplemental locations can be other local public fields or go-to places where you get extra reps.
How do I get paid?
  • During the sign-up process, you will be required to make a Stripe account that connects directly to your bank account. This allows payments to get sent directly to your account.
  • Payment processes when you confirm that a session has been completed, and the funds are generally available within a couple of business days.
What equipment do I need for training?
  • Especially for training that involves shooting, you should have at least 36 lacrosse balls ready.
  • Cones and other gear are always helpful but not required.
Can we do full contact training?
  • For safety reasons, we do not want training sessions conducted via NextRep to involve full contact drills.
  • Even for skill work, all boys lacrosse players should wear a helmet and gloves during training, and girls lacrosse players should wear goggles.
Do I need insurance?
  • NextRep maintains a Participants Policy. Accident Indemnity Benefits are eligible for registered participants, up to 18 years old, registered instructors, referees, staff members, or volunteers of the Policyholder performing their assigned duties during a Covered Activity (Lacrosse training). Travel is Not covered.

  • NextRep Does Not provide insurance coverage for any Trainers, Individuals, or Facilities / Grounds / Property Owners.

  • Trainers, Individuals, and Volunteers are Self-Employed Independent Contractors and Not Employees of NextRep.

  • NextRep Does Not require Self-Employed Independent Contractors to maintain and provide proof of insurance to register and participate on our platform.

  • NextRep strongly recommends obtaining your own Insurance Coverage for General Liability and Professional Liability.

What is the policy around cancellations and no-shows?
  • If either party (you or your client) cancels outside of 48 hours, then it is automatically processed and accepted by the counterparty.
  • If you cancel on your client within 48 hours, you will need to provide a reason (weather, injury, personal event, etc.). Your client will have the option to accept or deny the cancellation request. If they deny the cancellation, you will be charged $20 that will be paid directly to the client.
  • If your client is a no-show, the client will be charged $20 that will be debited into your account.
  • If you have a dispute regarding cancellations or no-shows, please submit a request to support@nextrepplatform.com explaining the situation.
